It’s Pour-ty Time!

There is going to be a one of its kind, first time ever, moving and shaking party that you are going to want to be a part of. I gave you a little idea of what I’m referring to in my last blog. Now it’s time we dig in and get ready to put your on dancing shoes. Audubon Aquarium of the Americas will be hosting its first ever fundraiser, Scales & Ales. The event is happening this Friday, September 24^th at the aquarium. The party kicks off at eight in the evening and ends at eleven. Expect to find the most delectable food and cocktails. Eat as much as you like, discover new specialty cocktails and dance the night away in the aquarium. Admission is only $35!  Your happy foot reveling will benefit Audubon’s Louisiana Marine Mammal and Sea Turtle Rescue Program (LMMSTRP ). Through this program, Audubon has been instrumental in rescuing and rehabilitating sea turtles and marine mammals to be able to release the once stranded and injured animals back into their natural habitat. Come out and help give Audubon the  support to continue to help these amazing creatures. And guess what? There are even more exciting things for you to participate in. You can also bid on items in the silent auction that evening. Some of the items being auctioned are provided by Lizzano’s Glass Haus, Inc., Bayona and Vom Fass. These are only some of the businesses with great items. When you come to the event you’ll see so much more! We love our food here in New Orleans but we also love our music. So I’ll give you a breakdown of what you’ll be snapping and clapping to. When you first walk up Thelonious Monk Institute Ensemble will greet you with hip jazz sounds. The sound of jazz on the river will compel you to twirl right into the Aquarium.  As soon as you enter you’ll know right away that your seat will be left empty because you’ll be on the dance floor jammin’ to one of the best dance bands - Escalade Show and Dance. And don’t worry I know you want to strut with a good second line. And you’ll get the best with Soul Rebels Brass Band. I’m already excited just thinking about it.
