Ga lee look at de size o dat gator!
I’m tapping my feet to a Cajun and Zydeco beat. Because happening this weekend is the city’s best festival that celebrates Cajun culture and the swamps of Louisiana. Audubon Zoo is hosting its annual Louisiana Swamp Fest! This Saturday and Sunday you must come out to taste some true Louisiana Cajun cooking. Grab a dance partner while you skip and two step over to the Swamp exhibit for a Cajun dance instruction. Also over in the swamp don’t miss out on the alligator feedings, this will be your last chance to see them in action before the winter food break. You’re wondering why they have an eating hibernation? Come to the festival and learn all about it. This something you’ll want to see, it’s just exciting to watch. Since we’re talking about food let’s jump into all the great food we’ll have. I bet you’ve never had a gator burger, and it’s been a while since your last soft shell crab po-boy. Yummy that’s my favorite! You can try them both this weekend. I’m also going to try the Alligator Sauce Picante. I hear it’s delish! In the festival area we’ll also have craft booths all filled with handmade Louisiana items. Support our local crafters buy local goods! One of the best parts of Swamp Fest is the entertainment and this year we have the best bands in Cajun and Zydeco music. We’ll have two stages of music with headliners Beausoleil, Rosie Ledet & the Zydeco Playboys, and Terrance Simien & the Zydeco Experience. If you haven’t heard them before you’ll be a Cajun and Zydeco fan after this weekend. C’mon cher, allons (Let's go)!
