Mmmm mmmm munch munch, gulp gulp ahhhhhh. You want to sample some great food and specialty cocktails that will have you mmmm’ing and ahhhh’ing? Well you can do just that when you join us this year for our second annual Scales & Ales at Audubon Aquarium of the Americas. It’s only a week away, so buy your tickets today.  This fabulous party will be Friday, September 16^th and ticket prices start at $35. That’s a great price for a great party. With over 20 bars and tons of restaurants severing up the newest mixed drink concoctions and prime cuisine, this is the biggest fundraiser hosted by the Aquarium.  And  as per the use-u-al, say it with some swag… we party for a good cause, and all proceeds from the event benefit Audubon’s Marine Mammal and Sea Turtle Program.  We’ve got great bands performing all night. You ever heard of Kermit Ruffins? Yep, we got ’em! Also on our entertainment lineup the very colorful 610 Stompers will delight and amuse you with dancing moves that will surely please.  The music groups 3 West and Washboard Chaz will have your hands clapping and your feet  tapping. Plus the Stooges Brass Band won’t have any wall flowers around when they perform; I can almost guarantee that they will have you waving a white napkin before the end of the night! But let me not forget what the biggest reason you’ll come. The bars and bars and more bars featuring special drink mixes and beers with unique samples for you to try. Have you ever had a Plum St. Sno-ball? Most will say why of course, but have you ever had a spiked Plum St. Sno-ball!?  You can taste one here; it’s cool, it’s refreshing and it’s got a little kick. We’ll also have great beers from Abita Brewing Co., Lazy Magnolia and more. Along with beer bars we’ll have 10 wine bars provided by Republic National Beverage for you to get a taste of the latest trends in wine. And the restaurants will serve up some of the most delicious fare. We’ll have Acme Oyster house, Fat Hen Grill, Praline Connection and lots more.
