Zoo Year's Eve

Well, 2012 is wrapping up really quickly.  Speaking of wrapping, I hope all your holiday is hopping is complete. If not, remember Audubon is here to help you with our fabulous gift shops, on line store and gifts of all sorts. So now it’s time to turn our focus to new year. Well, Audubon’s gotcha covered there, too, my friend!  Once again, we are throwing our signature Zoo Year’s Eve party complete with a countdown to noon on Monday, December 31st. This will be a fun party for kids of all age to enjoy during the day light. There will be a pre-dance party beginning at 10:30 am.  And the event features live entertainment from Super Stars, Carl Mack, Remedy Band, Ruppel Academy Dance and Flag Team, the Slidell Skippers, Oops the Hula Hooper, a juggler and a roaming clown.  As if that weren’t enough, Kids and Family New Orleans, Bookoo Bounce, Gymrompers, Art from the Heart, Porta Puppet Players, Pony Tales and inflatable Zoo will all be here for your delight and entertainment.  If you get here early, be sure grab a party hat and noise maker.  Everyone will gather in the big field by the Capitol One Stage to get ready for the countdown featuring the Fat City Drum Corps complete with a kid-friendly beverage toast courtesy of our friends at Pepsi.  At Noon get ready to jump, sing and shout HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Y’all will love all of the excitement.  I can tell you from experience that your kids will have so much fun that they will wear themselves out. Come on down to Audubon Zoo and spend the morning with us for an early kickoff to your New Year’s Eve celebration. Now cue the music and let’s all sing together: Should auld acquaintance be forgot, and never brought to mind?  Should auld acquaintance be forgot, and auld lang syne.  Here’s the part most people only know parts of:  For auld lang syne, my dear, for auld lang syne, we'll take a cup of kindness yet, for auld lang syne. Join us in song at Zoo Year’s Eve on Monday, December 31st!  Remember, admission to this event is included in Audubon membership or in regular Zoo admission.
