Fourth of July Fever!
By: L'jeanne, Advertising Manager
It’s officially summer everybody! And I’m all kinds of officially delirious, ya’ll! Summer time means heading outdoors more, planning all kinds of activities for the kids, having weekday play dates and kicking up the workout/ exercise schedule. Unfortunately this also means that I have single handedly made myself (and of no fault but my own) delirious. I’m not talking about just regular delirium, as if there is one. I’m talking about full on delirious talk. Just this morning I’m talking to my kids telling them what we have to do later and how we need to get to bed at a decent hour because the previous night we had a wonderful weekday play date pool get-together that ultimately turned into to a full fledged party in the middle of the week. So I’m in the car talking and I always want them to answer “Yes” or “okay, we will.” So I’m soliciting their reply and I hear nothing. As I’m driving, I say… “Kids do you hear me?”….. Nothing “Hello…guys what do you say?.....” No response….. I look back and uh oh… have I really been talking to myself? I already dropped them off at camp! Arg!! I’m madder at the fact that I’ll have to repeat this all over again and not at the fact that I’ve been talking to myself for the past few minutes. Now I will say that my new little baby has also been contributing to this delirium. For some reason my almost 9 month old has decided to revert back to her newborn days and wake every 2 hours! What up with that! She and I will have a one-on-one, face-to-face talk again tonight. This can’t go on any longer. Now aside from all that we’ve got the fourth of July coming up and, of course, more parties and planning for get togethers has already begun. So of course I have my week of the fourth mapped out. Dance recital this weekend, check that off the list. We’ve got camp on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, check. During the day on Thursday we’ll chill out at Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium to look at the Red, White and Butterflies display and also head over to Audubon Aquarium of the Americas for the grand opening of the new Geaux Fish exhibit prior to the night festivities of Go Fourth on the River. The kids are going to love the new Geaux Fish exhibit. There are all kinds of neat interactive stations for the kids. Inside the exhibit some of the highlights will be of various game fish, bait fish and commercial seafood of Louisiana. The interactive games will be featured within the two life-sized boats and there will also be a Seafood Market and play area. Of course the stingray touch pool will be there for your hands on enjoyment! We’ve got some fun forth of July happening so it doest matter if you meet me there or beat me there, all I know is just be there!
