New chicks on the block
Audubon Aquarium of the Americas has some hot new chicks! Well penguin chicks that is. Now on exhibit are three new hatchlings that were just born in March. The new penguin chicks are of the endangered African Blackfooted family. These penguins live in warm climates and love the warm water. Two of the chicks were named Marina and Skua, soon we’ll have a name for the third chick and who knows we may even get you all to vote on the name! We’ve got an active group of penguins over at the aquarium. You can see them waddle, jump, and swim in the water. You can also check out our most social penguin, Kohl. This guy not only spends his days with his fellow penguin friends but he also has a Twitter account! And he loves to tweet! Follow him on Twitter so you can keep up with all the info on the inside of the penguin exhibit. He’s got jokes, rhymes and tidbits of info! Kohl is one very interactive penguin. You can even get up close to him with our new hands on experience, The Backstage Penguin Pass! This is a once in a lifetime experience where you can get hands on with a penguin. You can see how their food is prepared and learn cool facts about what our aquarist do with the penguins on a day to day basis. The backstage penguin pass is available Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Tickets are on sale now so get your group together and make a moment into a memory of a lifetime. Kohl the penguin is waiting for you and he may even tweet that you came to visit him. We’ve got such great new happenings with our penguins at the aquarium come and check us out today.
