IMAX® New Movie!
Now showing at Entergy IMAX®Theatre is the new IMAX® 3D movie The Island of Lemurs: Madagascar 3D. This documentary takes you on a journey with nature’s greatest explores – lemurs. The story is a compelling look at how the lemurs have survived and thrived on the Island of Madagascar. But now they are highly endangered and we as people are here to share this planet and protect it. This will be a great movie for the kids to learn about the Madagascar Island and its lemurs. I’ve seen a few of the previews and read about what’s in the movie and it’s jam packed with awesome information. Here are just a few things that I thought were cool. Lemurs are evolutionary relatives of monkeys, apes, annnnd people! They actually have traits like people. They live natively on the island of Madagascar, and nowhere else. So you won’t find lemurs living in any other native environment in the world. Here’s what I think is a spooky tidbit: lemur in Latin means “ghost” and many of the Malagasy people believe lemurs are similar to spirits or ghosts because of their haunting stare and night activity. Isn’t that interesting, hummm? The ring-tailed lemurs have some girl power going on in their group. These lemurs live in big groups of up to 24 and the females rule! Girls rock! Alright so that’s all the info I’m going to give you. To learn all about Lemur Island and its many species go to Entergy IMAX® Theater to see it now! Island of Lemurs Madagascar 3D is only showing for a limited time so make today an Audubon day!
