Reporting to the Volunteer Manager of the Aquarium, and ultimately the Director of Education & Volunteers, the Volunteer Liaison supervises and assists volunteers with interpretation of exhibited animals and habitats to visitors, manning and monitoring hands-on exhibits, providing positive interaction with visitors, staff and other volunteers, and quality customer service. Assists with the placement and supervision of volunteers who report to Husbandry, Education, Guest Services or any other area of the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas after being processed by the Volunteer Office. Develops all training materials and conducts all training classes for new volunteers. In addition, also develops and implements all continuing education programs for current volunteers, and assesses volunteer educational needs as part of this process.
