Zoo Commissary Intern
The Audubon Zoo Commissary is accepting applications for a commissary keeper internship program. This internship runs a minimum of 12 weeks and is unpaid. This internship provides practical hands-on experience for those interested in zoo commissary operations and nutrition. The intern works alongside Commissary staff experiencing a wide variety of diet preparations and learning about nutritional values, diverse animal dietary requirements, dietary enrichment, quality control, inventory management, and facility upkeep.
Open to responsible adults who can work a minimum of 4 mornings a week (4 hours per day) for a minimum of 12 weeks. Schedules are flexible and more hours may be available if desired. Applicants must be willing and able to work in all weather, and will need a current TB test and Hepatitis A/B vaccination.
