Audubon Nature Institute is currently accepting applications for 2016 internship placements.  For session schedules and application deadlines, please see our internship page.

Audubon Zoo in New Orleans is seeking applicants for internships in the Bird Department for winter session of 2015. Internships are unpaid positions and require a commitment of 32-40 hours per week for 12 weeks. Interns will gain valuable, practical experience while working with keeper staff to learn aspects of animal care such as animal husbandry, exhibit maintenance, enrichment, and public presentations. Interns are expected to work in all types of weather and must be able to lift, bend, and stoop. Applicants must also have current proof of a negative TB test. Starting dates for the winter session is anytime from November 8th through November 26th.   The deadline for applications for the winter session is September 18th.  No housing is provided.
