Solar-Powered Golf Carts

Golfers at Audubon Park Golf Course are now the first in the state to use solar-powered golf carts on the green!

In November 2012 Audubon became the first golf course in the state of Louisiana to convert its carts to solar-powered. It also makes Audubon one of only a few places in the country to be utilizing this green technology.

The carts will use sunlight to charge their power saving money on electricity and reducing carbon dioxide emissions. The anticipated energy savings are significant and the rooftop panels attached to the carts are removable so they can be placed on newer carts for extended use.

Congratulations to John Hennessey of Metairie (pictured above) who was the first player to use one of the new solar-powered golf carts at Audubon Park Golf Course!
