Audubon offers exciting scouting programs that celebrate the wonders of nature:

 

Bringing your Girl Scout or Boy Scout troop camping in the Zoo!

Girl and Boy Scout units and their leaders, parents and siblings are invited to join in the fun and camp out at Audubon Zoo for only $35 a person. Troops have the option of earning a badge during their overnight!


Limited 2015 spring dates are now all booked! Fall dates will be posted in June.

To reserve your date will require a minimum registration of 10 people as a deposit. You must register on-line. Full payment and total participant numbers are required no less than two weeks before the registered date. ACTUAL minimum number of registrants is 30 people.

Requirements:

  • All scouts must bring their own camping equipment (tents, sleeping bags, etc.) and provide dinner for their troop.
  • The minimum number of people is 30.
  • The maximum number of people is 70.
  • All participants must be five years of age or older.

Sample Overnight Itinerary:

6:00 pmTroop arrives and set-up their "camp" in the education yard
7:00 pmEvening activities begin including animal adventures, biofact times, campfire with s’mores and a night hike through the Zoo.
10:00 pmLights out
7:00 amContinental breakfast
8:00 amMorning hike through the Zoo
9:00 amScouts depart from the Zoo

Daisy Day at Audubon Zoo

Daisy Day at Audubon Zoo will be an exciting adventure as we observe wildlife at the Zoo and work on the Daisy Journey. Included in the workshop is admission to the Zoo on the day of the event, the badge program (4), a live animal demonstration and snacks. (One adult chaperone for every six scouts is required.)

Topics that will be covered include:
Honest and Fair, Courageous and Strong
Use Resources Wisely & Make the World a Better Place
Considerate and Caring, Friendly and Helpful
Responsible for What I Say and Do

Date: March 15, 2015
Time: 10am to 2pm
Cost: $30/member participant/$40 nonmember participant*
Includes adult chaperone, Zoo admission, snacks and activities
