Soul Fest
March 2010
11:00 am to 5:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday
Audubon Zoo
Soul Fest was celebrated over two days and featured live musical performances by local artists including Jazz, Rhythm and Blues, Gospel and Hip Hop artists. Soul food prepared by local restaurants and caterers was sold for purchase, as well as hand made arts and crafts. Children enjoyed the Children's Workshop presented by Home Depot as well as hands on activities at the Kid's Cultural tent. Local health organizations were on hand to offer information on healthy lifestyle changes, and African American Firsts were honored for the first time; including Dr. Corey Hebert, the late Ernest N. Morial, Dr. Willard Dumas, Mr. Wayne Lee, and Judge Madeline Jasmine.
Soul Fest was presented by WellCare for the third consecutive year and sponsored in part by the New Orleans Black McDonald's Operators Association.
