The Jason Marsalis Percussion Ensemble will present a tribute to Max Roach’s legendary album M’Boom on the Capital One Stage at Audubon Zoo.
An iconic release for Roach, M’Boom creates melodies using only percussion instruments; the performance will feature chimes, timbales, marimba, vibes, xylophone, timpani, various bells and steel drums.
The M'Boom performance will also include a drum circle and a short opening performance by the New Orleans Jazz Institute’s Saturday Music School students.
This concert is the third event of NOJO’s Spring 2013 Hometown Concert Series, which is being presented by Popeyes.

The Jason Marsalis Percussion Ensemble will present a tribute to Max Roach’s legendary album M’Boom on the Capital One Stage at Audubon Zoo.
An iconic release for Roach, M’Boom creates melodies using only percussion instruments; the performance will feature chimes, timbales, marimba, vibes, xylophone, timpani, various bells and steel drums.
The M'Boom performance will also include a drum circle and a short opening performance by the New Orleans Jazz Institute’s Saturday Music School students.
This concert is the third event of NOJO’s Spring 2013 Hometown Concert Series, which is being presented by Popeyes.

The Jason Marsalis Percussion Ensemble will present a tribute to Max Roach’s legendary album M’Boom on the Capital One Stage at Audubon Zoo.
An iconic release for Roach, M’Boom creates melodies using only percussion instruments; the performance will feature chimes, timbales, marimba, vibes, xylophone, timpani, various bells and steel drums.
The M'Boom performance will also include a drum circle and a short opening performance by the New Orleans Jazz Institute’s Saturday Music School students.
This concert is the third event of NOJO’s Spring 2013 Hometown Concert Series, which is being presented by Popeyes.

By age six, Jason Marsalis had his first real drum set and was studying with the legendary James Black. At age seven, he was sitting with his father Ellis' jazz group, as well as playing with his trombonist brother Delfeayo. By age nine, Jason was becoming a seasoned road veteran, even traveling to the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston. He has studied at NOCCA, Loyola University and Southern University with Roger Dickerson. Jason is the co-founder of the Latin Jazz group Los Hombres Calientes.
