FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

When was the last time you were "en-GROSS-ed?
Interactive Exhibition Takes a Slightly Different View of Fluffy, Fido and the Rest of the Animal Kingdom.

Animal Grossology at Audubon Aquarium of the Americas!
  Premiering Tuesday, February 28, 2012
For a Limited Time!

(New Orleans, La.) — What do dung, slime, and cows' cud have in common? They’re all produced by animals, fascinating to kids, and are the focus of the new interactive exhibition “Animal Grossology,” at Audubon Aquarium of the Americas premiering Tuesday, February 28, 2012 through Labor Day.

This exhibition takes a slightly different view of Fluffy, Fido and the rest of the animal kingdom while incorporating solid science information into interactive entertainment. This "en-gross-ing" exhibit translates into big fun while guests learn about some of the stinkiest, slimiest, and downright yuckiest creatures on earth.

Animal Grossology introduces science in a way that makes kids giggle.  "It's science disguised in interactive entertainment," says Audubon Executive Vice-President Karyn Kearney.  "Kids are more apt to learn when they're having politically incorrect family fun."

This new exhibit follows in the footsteps of the overwhelmingly popular “Grossology, the (Impolite) Science of the Human Body” and is the next generation in the GROSSOLOGY series.  Fifteen hands-on stations feature such gross subjects as “Party Pooper,” “Blood Sucker Blow-up,” "Belch-a-Baby," and “The Slime Game” that teach lessons such as how the waste of some animals actually helps others survive, ways to avoid diseases such as Lyme or West Nile, and that slime serves many important functions for animals, from facilitating motion to digestion to defense.

Oozing with disgusting science and interactive learning games, the all-new “Animal Grossology” exhibit is sure to provide a unique perspective on the animal kingdom. Want to see more of the downright yuckiest creatures on earth? Visit Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium to experience two Animal Grossology features: The Dung Ball Rally and Stupor Fly.  All Animal Grossology activities are included in general admission cost.
