Hoppy 2nd ANT-iversary Audubon Insectarium!

2010-06-01

On June 12and 13, 2010, fly in to Audubon Insectarium in New Orleans to help celebrate the second ANT-iversary – along with many bug birthdays of the tiny titans inside!

Visitors receive ANT-iversary birthday hats, create art projects, win prizes, and even try the birthday cake and cookies while supplies last in Bug Appétit.

Join the fun with face painters (12pm-3pm), an insect balloon artist (10am-1pm), and very special guests Spider-Man® and Hugo the Hornet.
Entomologists will host special creature features, showcasing Audubon Insectarium’s star residents and talking about their birthdays.

Audubon Insectarium opened on June 13, 2008 - the largest free-standing museum dedicated to insects and their relatives in North America. Housed inside the historic U.S. Custom House, approximately 900,000 crawling critters (many live) call it home. Visitors are delighted when they see and touch arthropods, or shrink down to bug size to explore the world beneath the topsoil! They can even expand their gastronomic horizons by eating bugs in Bug Appétit and watching Awards Night, a 4-D movie that honors the incredible feats and roles that insects play in our natural world.

Guests can experience the lovely life of insects and their relatives at 423 Canal Street (located inside the U.S. Custom House), New Orleans
from 10am to 5pm Tuesday through Sunday. Special ANT-iversary activities take place Saturday and Sunday, June 12 and 13, 2010.
