Tired of the "same ole" turkey dinner for Thanksgiving?

Visitors Enjoy New Twists to Traditional Thanksgiving Recipes at Audubon Insectarium!

November 22-23 and 25-27, 2011

Hoppy Thanksgiving
(New Orleans, La.)– Celebrate the holiday season in a whole new way at Audubon Insectarium! On November 22-23 and 25-27 Executive Bug Chefs stir things up in Bug Appétit by offering visitors the opportunity to taste new twists to traditional Thanksgiving family recipes.

Visitors expand their gastronomic horizons by enjoying traditional dishes with a particularly exotic flair including turkey with cornbread and mealworm stuffing, wax worm cranberry sauce and cricket pumpkin pie.

Guests can bring the whole family for a day of fun and education as they learn that people all over the world enjoy cooking with and dining on insects.

Bug Appétit is located in the back of the Tiny Termite Café at Audubon Insectarium. It offers visitors a chance to taste insect cuisine in many forms – from chocolate “chirp” cookies to six-legged salsa. Visitors searching for more traditional fare will find it in the café as well – minus the six-legged ingredients, of course.

Look for the buggy Thanksgiving dishes November 22 – 23 and November 25-27 from 10am to 5pm at Audubon Insectarium, 423 Canal Street in New Orleans. The tastings are included with regular Insectarium admission while supplies last. Audubon Insectarium will be closed Thanksgiving Day, November 24.
