Audubon Zoo Members Party Set for June 8, 2011

June 6, 2011                                                                                                              New Orleans, LA

Everyone loves this legendary party at Audubon Zoo. It’s for members only – but anyone can be a member!

ZOOBILATION is Wednesday, June 8, at Audubon Zoo, 6500 Magazine Street in New Orleans. The fun begins at 4:30pm, when Audubon Nature Institute members are invited to explore and experience the Zoo in ways not offered during regular visiting hours. Animal hospital, commissary and elephant barn are just a few off-stage areas members see and learn about during Zoobilation.
There is so much to do! Chats are scheduled for Asian Domain, World of Primates, whooping cranes, pythons, Red River hogs and many more. Three separate alligator feedings are scheduled in the Louisiana Swamp Exhibit. Swamp train rides are free for members, as are simulator and carousel rides. Entertainment is featured on three different stages. Nancy Parker from Fox8 signs her book, “The Adventures of Yat and Dat: What’s Cookin’?” at Audubon Marketplace from 5pm – 7pm. For the gardener, Audubon’s horticulture department will sell compost and plants.
Not a member? Not to worry – you can sign up right at the door and enjoy the party. Memberships begin at $90 annually for unlimited visits to Audubon Zoo and Audubon Aquarium, with discounted admission to Audubon Insectarium and Entergy IMAX Theatre, along with a number of other exciting benefits.

Audubon Zoo closes at 3pm on June 8 to get ready for this annual shindig, which attracts thousands of Audubon members every year. Sealebration, the member party at Audubon Aquarium, is equally popular and is scheduled for August 3, 2011. Find out more by calling 504-581-4629.
