Beetlemania invades New Orleans at Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium on Saturday, September 6, 2014 and Sunday, September 7, 2014. 

Chef Tenney Flynn, of New Orleans restaurant GW Fins, is advocating for the sustainability of seafood from the Gulf of Mexico by partnering with Audubon Nature Institute’s Gulf United for Lasting Fisheries (G.U.L.F.) to form a council composed of influential chefs in the region.

From August 1, 2014 through September 30, 2014, guests with valid military ID (active or retired) can visit the ticket booth at Audubon ZooAquarium, and Butterfly Garden and Insectarium and receive a complimentary ticket of equal or lesser value with the purchase of a full price ticket.

Soul Fest

The performance lineup for the annual Soul Fest is at Audubon Zoo has a distinctly local flavor this year.
 

Finishing touches are underway to the $1 million, 4200 square-foot Great Maya Reef exhibit at Audubon Aquarium of the Americas. Opening on Saturday, March 8, 2014, the new exhibit completely transforms the entrance of the Aquarium.

Audubon Nature Institute officials and a host of elected officials and community leaders will gather Friday to launch the restoration of Audubon Louisiana Nature Center, a project that will return the sprawling eastern New Orleans attraction to its proper place as a treasured green space for family recreation and environmental education.
