Audubon Zoo hosts Special Needs Day 
Saturday, November 9

 

(New Orleans, La.) –  Audubon Zoo hosts its second annual Special Needs Day on Saturday, November 9.

Activities will be in the Capital One field from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and include hand-held animal encounters, live entertainment, face-painting and a social service fair with community partners.

For Special Needs Day, Audubon Zoo offers a $3 admission ticket which can be purchased by organizations that serve special-needs clients. Advance tickets also can be purchased by contacting Audubon Reservations and Information at 504-581-4629.

The event is sponsored in part by Jefferson Financial Credit Union and Confront and Conquer, a local faith-based support group for parents and caretakers of children with special needs.

Audubon Zoo is located at 6500 Magazine Street. Admission to the Zoo is $17.50 for adults, $12 for children 2-12 and $13 for seniors 65+. Audubon Nature Institute members are admitted free of charge.
