Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium and Audubon Aquarium of the Americas buzzworthy $2 Tuesday deal for Louisiana residents ends on March 31, 2015

Five rehabilitated endangered sea turtles stranded off the New England coast were released into the Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday, March 17 by Audubon Nature Institute working at the direction of NOAA and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. 

Giant insects from all over the planet have a new home in New Orleans at Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium. Visitors can now marvel at the enormity of some of the world's largest moths, cockroaches and beetles currently on exhibit.

In order to help consumers make the best decisions when purchasing Gulf seafood, Audubon Nature Institute’s sustainable seafood program, Gulf United for Lasting Fisheries (G.U.L.F.), has developed a new app to help consumers easily locate the freshest, in-season Gulf seafood in stores and restaurants. 

Because the divers at Audubon Aquarium of the Americas have been dancing with the sharks for nearly 25 years, they created a video of their take on last Sunday's half-time show. Audubon Aquarium divers show that you don't have to be a pop star to dance with sharks! 

Twenty-one rehabilitated endangered sea turtles stranded last month off the New England coast were released into the Gulf of Mexico on Thursday, January 29, 2015 by Audubon Nature Institute.

Audubon assisted in a recent successful manatee rescue, thanks to efforts by researchers from the Dauphin Island Sea Lab’s Manatee Sighting Network (MSN) and the Alabama Marine Mammal Stranding Network (ALMMSN), along with collaborators.

Twenty-seven sea turtles were transported from the New England Aquarium to the Audubon Aquatic Center housed in the Freeport-McMoRan Audubon Species Survival Center in New Orleans on Monday, December 15 for treatment by the Louisiana Marine Mammal and Sea Turtle Rescue Program (LMMSTRP).

On Wednesday, December 17, Santa will suit up and scuba dive in the Great Maya Reef tunnel, and will return on Thursday, December 18 at 3 p.m. to hand deliver treats to the penguins.

Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium welcomes the whole family to a full day of holiday fun at Jingle Bugs on Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Audubon Aquarium of the Americas welcomes "Caroline," the newest resident to the Gulf of Mexico exhibit. The 3-year-old sand tiger shark arrived on November 5, 2014 from the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.
