Brochure and Itinerary

Join Audubon Nature Institute on an exciting 9-night journey to Costa Rica. The tour is highlighted by visits to several of the country’s top birding and wildlife areas including Tortuguero National Park, famous for its tropical forest and turtles, as well as Sarapiqui, the Arenal Volcano Area and the Monteverde Cloud Forest. A professional Naturalist Guide will accompany us throughout, ensuring a unforgettable experience.

Your escort and guide on this trip will be Joel M. Hamilton, Vice President/General Curator of Audubon Zoo. Early in his career, Joel focused on birds but has interests in a wide variety of species. His participation in field conservation projects include living in a tent for a month in the Amazon forest of Peru while collecting data for a population study of understory birds, and traveling to Cuba to assist with a field population census of the Cuban Amazon parrot and the Cuban crane. Joel has led birding trips to Costa Rica in the past and is looking forward to showing you the amazing birds that inhabit this country.
