Penguins Exhibit

Penguins Exhibit

The penguin colony at Audubon Aquarium of the Americas has expanded with the hatching of three endangered African Blackfooted penguin chicks. Born in March, the chicks are growing quickly and are now on exhibit. Leaving their fluffy feathers behind the youngsters are now fully fledged and look similar to the adults.

Watch our bustling colony of penguins as they waddle, hop, dive and swim. Looking for snow in the exhibit? There isn't any...Audubon’s two species of penguins are Rockhopper penguins from South America and African penguins. They are both temperate climate birds who prefer warmer water temperature than their cold water cousins.

Audubon Aquarium of the Americas is proud of our successful African Penguin breeding program, so be sure to stop by and wave hello to the newest members of our colony.

Penguin feedings are 10:30 am and 3:00 pm every day.
