Harry's Big Adventure

Harry, a Chinese praying mantis from Memphis, Tennessee, is a well-travelled celebrity. Delivered with great fanfare by Terminix, Harry arrived at Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium just in time for its grand opening in 2008. He entertained and educated kids at museums and science centers on the way to his new home in New Orleans. You can visit Harry at the Butterfly Garden and Insectarium, and read about his adventures.

Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium is located in the U.S. Custom House; a Federal building. Please click here for important entry guidelines and restrictions.

The renovation of the popular Joe W. and Dorothy Dorsett Brown Foundation Butterflies in Flight exhibit is now underway for a spring re-opening. The exhibit is currently closed as we install an amazing array of butterflies, new lighting, flooring, plants and other enhancements.
