South American Pampas

Travel below the equator to the South American Pampas where tapirs, emus and guanacos await. You will also see a family of capybara: they are the world's largest rodent and great swimmers, too!

Audubon recently welcomed five baby capybaras born at the Zoo on July 4, 2012. When they are born, capybaras have all their fur and can see. The babies are also able to run, swim and dive within hours of birth. Look for the new capybara family walking in the shade or swimming in the lagoon—this is one active animal family.

Audubon Experience Package

Entergy IMAX® Theatre will be closed for renovations from May 19 through May 24, 2013. During this time visitors will not be able to redeem the IMAX film portion of their Audubon Experience ticket. If you would like to purchase an Audubon Experience ticket for use during our renovation Audubon is offering a Multi-Attraction Ticket at a discounted rate. This ticket will be available for purchase ON SITE beginning Tuesday, May 21, 2013.
