The Junior Entomologist program at Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium introduces students into the world of arthropods. Students will learn teamwork and public speaking while participating in hands-on learning activities through field trips and class time. The Junior Entomologist program requires a one year commitment. Upon completion of the first year, participants will have the opportunity to move up as a second year Junior Entomologist.
The 2013 Junior Entomologist program is open to students entering the 8th-10th grades during the fall of 2013. If accepted to the program the student will be required to attend orientation in May followed by an overnight retreat in June. Summer training will take place the month of July. Junior Entomologists are then required to attend two shifts per month during September through May in addition to any events that will be taking place at the Butterfly Garden and Insectarium.
The application process for the 2013 program is now closed. Please check back in November for more information on the 2014 program.
