The Joy of Learning
- Audubon celebrated the wonders of nature with signature events such as Earth Fest powered by BP, Swamp Fest, Putumayo Family Festival, Celebración Latina and Zoo Year’s Eve. - During the summer months, Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium put on several special events. The third ANT-iversary featured wildlife experts from LSU, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Red, White and Butterflies focused on all things butterfly and included a fabulous patriotic display of preserved insects. In the fall, Beetlemania was followed by Crawloween, Hoppy Thanksgiving and Jingle Bugs.
- Teacher workshops at the Zoo and Aquarium continued to offer a variety of courses designed to teach and inspire.
- Harry’s Big Adventure: My Bug World! presented by Terminix is a multisensory experience that immerses visitors into the world of bugs. Audubon provides live insects, bug chefs, educational programming and installation expertise for the show, which traveled to Tampa and Orlando, Florida.
