Soul Fest

Soul Fest

Music, food and fun are served in great supply during the annual  Soul Fest at Audubon Zoo!

Over 20,000 visitors converge upon the Zoo each year for one of New Orleans’ biggest celebrations of African American history. The two day family-oriented event features live musical performances by local Jazz, Rhythm & Blues, and Gospel artists at our Capital One Stage!

Visitors purchase authentic soul food prepared by local restaurants and caterers, and also enjoy the Zoo's collection of exotic animals! Kids visit craft tables from Brazil, China, Haiti, Jamaica and Africa at the Children's Global Playground, and create their very own Soul Fest souvenir. Festival goers also visit with local health, education and social service organizations and receive valuable wellness and lifestyle information.

Soul Fest also features a tribute to African American Firsts.  Those honored at Soul Fest 2015 were St. John District Attorney Bridget Dinvaut, WWL-TV General Manager Tod Smith, McDonald's Operator Chris Bardell, Louis Charbonnet with Charbonnet Family Services and Chief Howard Miller with the Creole Wild West Indians.

Soul Fest is free with Zoo admission.

Soul Fest was presented by AARP and sponsored in part by Shell, The Bardell Company and Marathon Petroleum Company.

Soul Fest entertainment included a long list of local favorites and newcomers!
